Love this platform. The light weight makes it very easy to pack in on long walks. The small profile makes it nice to slide into the bag compartment of my backpack. Also appreciate that it has the belt clip already on it. No need to have any additional gadgets to attach to my saddle when climbing. The attachment method is a little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it you can be hunting rather quickly. Like that I can attach it one handed.
Weight and packability are the two most important features for me — and these sticks deliver on both. They’re super light, and the telescoping design means they pack down small and tight. The magnetic tabs keep them together when stacking or packing in, which makes setup and transport simple and silent.
The cork shaft is another added touch — it eliminates incidental metal-on-metal noise, so there’s no need for silencing tape. They grip the tree extremely well with no slip.
If I could change one thing.....maybe I’d prefer an amsteel attachment over rope, but honestly, I’ve had no issues with the current setup — so it’s not really a complaint.
One of my sticks did arrive with a small section of cork gouged and peeling, but a quick patch with stealth tape fixed it up easily.
I’m not sure these are the perfect climbing sticks — but I haven’t found anything better, that’s for sure.
For reference, I’m running the Sub2 platform, the Adventure Pack, and two X20 sticks with three-step amsteel aiders (not their product) — and that setup gets me about 15 feet up comfortably.
Weight is a huge factor for me when it comes to platforms, and the Sub2 coming in right around 2 pounds is industry-leading. The next most important thing is packability — and on that front, these platforms aren’t just ahead of the competition… they’re in a league of their own.
Sure, they’re not cheap. But the workmanship leaves zero doubts about safety or quality. Combine that with one of the lightest platforms on the market and the smallest collapsed profile, and it’s absolutely worth every penny.
If you’re looking for the best of the best, look no further.
I’ve looked and looked and looked for a pack that checked all the boxes. There are so many great packs out there with tons of features—but every one of them seemed to be missing something. Then I found the Adventure Pack.
It’s light enough for early-season hunts, yet roomy enough to carry everything you need for cold weather hunts. It has a dedicated platform pouch, multiple stick-carrying options, smartly placed gear pouches, and dual main compartments so you can keep your saddle gear separate from your clothing.
The right amount of MOLLE for straps and attachments, well padded, a hip belt with gear bag, and overall comfort are top-notch. It’s rigid enough to hold its shape yet flexible enough to cinch down when you’re packing light. As a bonus a fold down gear pocket on front for easy access to the accessories you need when in the tree!
All that at a reasonable price?
Well done, Hunt Arsenal — this one’s a winner.
